Jesus is the answer to barrenness!

Guest Post
To say I am very honored to have Nerida Walker posting today is an understatement. She is a speaker and author who has taught the word to so many as they wait for their breakthrough from  to pregnancy. Her and her husband were told they wouldn’t have kids, but now have 4 – another beautiful testimony to God’s faithfulness!
I found her site and her book, God’s Plan for Pregnancy, last year and was extremely encouraged. Her book spoke so much truth and her website and youtube videos have helped me so much over the past year. We used her book for our Moms in the Makinggroup. I strongly encourage everyone who is waiting for their breakthrough to read it. Thank you Nerida for sharing with us today!

Do you struggle to know God’s will in your fertility struggles? Or do you struggle to know how He will answer your prayers? Don’t worry because you are not alone!
Many believers struggle to know God’s will for their life, especially in the area of fertility and whether it is His will for them to have children. There are many reasons for this, but the main reason is a lack of understanding of our New Covenant. However when we know what  purchased for us on the Cross then God’s will is then easy to determine. Its simple – God’s will for all who believe in Him is what He has already provided through  finished work of the Cross!
Similarly, if you are struggling to know God’s answer to your personal fertility prayers then that answer is also very simple to determine. It’s straightforward when you know who the Father is! His very nature and character is to provide. In fact, one of His redemptive names, or titles, is Jehovah Jireh, which simply means ‘the Lord our provider’. However when translated from Hebrew this title should more correctly read ‘the Lord has seen and provided an offering’. We know this to be already true because from the foundation of the world, God in His infinite wisdom and foreknowledge foresaw the fall of man, so He made the provision of Jesus as the one off offering to redeem mankind and the fallen world. 1 Peter 1:20 says  He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you ”
The Good News is that through Jesus not only did God redeem mankind from the effects of the fall, but at the same time and in the same manner He provided for every area of life. So before we ever had a need God foresaw and fore-responded by sending His son into the world to be the answer and solution to everything we would face. This means that God has already seen and already responded to every need you will ever face through what He did through the finished work of the Cross. Therefore all your fertility prayers have already been answered! The answer is not ’no’ or ’wait’ BUT is ALWAYS YES in Jesus!
2 Corinthians 1:20 NLT For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.
I cannot stress enough that when it comes to your own life, especially regarding fertility struggles, that you never judge God’s will or God’s answer to  on the grounds of your own or on others personal circumstances. Our natural circumstances differ greatly BUT God’s answer and solution is always the same, and that is what Jesus has done for you. Therefore, if you personally want to know if it’s God’s will for you to prosper in the fruit of your womb, or whether it is to have one baby or to have a family of children, the answer is always JESUS! And because of what Jesus has already done on the Cross, in Him that answer is always YES!
Now with that said, when it comes to fertility struggles it is so easy to get caught up in our own ability trying to make the breakthrough manifest. We chart, we plan and we watch the time! There are many natural, self-help and medical methods and things you can do to assist your body to reproduce. There is nothing wrong with a lot of these things as long as you don’t become obsessive or trust in them alone. More often than not, if you need healing in your body or a then what you do in the natural realm wil not bring that to pass. So if your circumstances are like mine were and there are no natural or medical options available, then the fact is there is nothing you can do in your own power that will help. While this may leave you feeling hopeless and out of control, this is actually the best place to be, because the supernatural power of God is not released by your might nor byyour power but by the Spirit of God!
I know how difficult and painful it can be when you see the months passing by with no change to your natural circumstances. While you may have been able to stop trying to make things happen in your own natural ability, the next challenge is to not become self-focused. I say this because it is very easy to start analyzing your life and become introspective. You start to judge your performance and yourself by looking at what you could be missing or doing wrong either naturally or spiritually – or both. But this focus still places the breakthrough upon your own natural ability and not upon Jesus and His finished work.
Always remember that our New Covenant is a Covenant of faith – not of works, which means that it is not based upon our natural works or self-effort. Faith always rests in God’s ability and not in our own. However, so many believers have misunderstood faith, so they struggle with trying to build themselves up and with putting their faith to work. However all this does is wear them out and keep them trapped focusing on their own performance. Faith and living by faith is simple. Think about it! Having faith in God is all about trusting in and resting in His ability and not in your own. If you are looking to your faith and to your performance then you are actually doubting God and trusting in your own ability.
Hebrews 12:2-3 MSG Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!
Jesus suffered and bore the weight of and the consequences of the sin of mankind so that we could partake in His victory over sin and all its consequences! When you understand what the death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus purchased and provided for you then you will know that in Him you already have everything you need for your breakthrough.
What I have shared here with you may seem like a very simple word of encouragement but the powerful truth is that Jesus is the answer to barrenness and every fertility struggle you will ever face!  So next time you are discouraged remind yourself that every answer is found in Jesus. In Him and through faith in Him you already have been given everything you need. Also remind yourself that what He did on the Cross was enough for you. It was a perfect, complete and finished work, which means that there is nothing left for you to do except to believe and trust in Him. Therefore, I encourage you to spend time in Him so that He can reveal this truth to you and lead you every step of the way in how to draw your hope and strength from Him. This will all help you to learn how to rest in His supernatural ability and not in your own and the rest will be history!
